On Sunday, September 3rd, 2000 Chamonix escaped from a vehicle involved
in an accident while traveling to Toledo for a trial with owner Pat Matejek .
Searchers located her once but were unable  to catch her, as she was
totally panicked.  Sadly, she was struck by a vehicle on I-75 and killed
on Tuesday, September 5th.  She was a sweet, lovely dog and will be missed
  by all who knew her.
Chammie lives on in our hearts and in our memories.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there.....       I do not sleep

I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow

I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle Autumn's rain

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night

Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there.....       I did not die
